Her Hair, His Glory: The Introduction
Praise the Lord !
I have been praying for a long time about how to incorporate my passion and revelation about my hair with this blog, so God , in only His infinite wisdom, gave me this idea. I will have a feature segment called "Her Hair, His Glory". This section with document my personal testimony along with things I have learned and what I am currently doing with my hair and my children's hair.
For those who don't know my little story. I am a long time transitioner. I got my first relaxer as a teenager. However, I liked wearing my hair curly, so I fought for those next few years with rollersets to keep a curl in my hair... Never questioning that if I like it curly why am I straightening it?
During my 1st year of college, straight hair maintenance was very expensive. So I didn't do it often at all. Maybe twice a year. I had tried to give myself relaxers, but I had a childhood friend whose hair literally fell out after doing one at home.... so that was not an option for me.
After I began my serious walk with God sometime later, I realized that mentally, I was telling myself there was something wrong with the way God made my hair. I honestly didn't prefer to straighten it, but I felt pressured to
do so. And that's where my hair journey began

From that point on I simply stopped relaxing my hair and I NEVER cut it.
Now more than 6 years later, my hair is longer than it has ever been in my life! As you can see from the pictures, my hair barely reached past my shoulder blades (orange shirt pic) and within 2 years it was down to my waist(pink shirt pic). Granted these are dated pics, but they are a reference point. And I have learned some very valiable lessons about my hair and my walk with God.
My desire is to encourage you, inspire you, and most importantly to help lead you to a place of contentment with who God made YOU!
So, here is the beginning of Her Hair, His Glory!
1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering
